Great happy hour at the bar. Reasonably priced food in a sports bar . Friendly bar tenders and good choice of beer.

The pizza was fantastic! I'm going to go ahead and say better than California pizza kitchen! Uh oh! The crust was thick, the sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms were perfect & flavorful. . My girlfriend ordered the BBQ chicken salad & it was huge & delicious. No leftovers tonight !! Friday is the $4 captain u call it & $4 two brothers, great food, great drink specials, will be back!

Anyways has fantastic food, drink specials and great staff! I came here yesterday as I was in the area.. Usually I go to the one in Bloomingdale. This one just isn't as good. The cups smelt like fish... It was gross. Ordered the same thing that I always do... The portions are much smaller here which is very strange to me. And when the manager came out with the food I told him oh I'm sorry these are suppose to be loaded fries. And then he reprimanded the bartender in front of me! I probably won't be back to this location.

For what looks like your run of the mill bar/restaurant, the service & food were pretty good! I was expecting a sub-par Friday's or Chili's experience. We originally sat on the patio but it began to rain - our waitress and one other girl quickly came to move us inside. They were very accommodating considering we didn't know if there'd be 4-7 people... Didn't make us wait for everyone to arrive. Our waitress wasn't 21 so she couldn't give us info on some local beers but she quickly brought a bartender over to help us out. Very prompt & courteous. Onto the food: I ordered my first patty melt... I was torn between that or the meatloaf sandwich. So glad I got the patty melt; I know it's the most basic burger but had never eaten one before! I honestly thought it was a fast food item only, lol. The burger was cooked to MR perfection (server got a kick out me asking for the burger to be "moo-ing"). Simple caramelized onions and cheddar cheese on rye bread. Geeze - I might not ever order from anywhere else for fear of ruining my experience. The burger had a great grill flavor too. I loved the fries, cooked & seasoned properly. My aunt ordered one of their popular pasta dishes; she said it's her favorite thing to order. My parents liked their meals; everyone had clean plate club.

Anyway's Chicago Restaurant & Pub is one of those places I've passed by countless times and never really thought too much of. The name "Anyway's" just seems to dismiss itself, like "Aww man, my favorite restaurant is packed to the brim with customers. I guess we could go to to Anyway's". One afternoon I had the day off of work and decided that I'm going to go somewhere I've not eaten at before for lunch, and lo and behold wound up at Anyway's. When I went in at lunchtime I got a look at the place, one thing I liked about the place was that it was very dark on the inside. It's as though they took the single digit light bulb wattage theme at Alfie's in Glen Ellyn and added shades to it. I was seated and somewhat longer than I might expect later a waiter came by to take my order. I decided to go for the "Owners Burger" which was a cheeseburger with grilled onions, mushrooms and sliced tomato. With it I ordered a side of french fries. A bit longer than I would have preferred later my food was brought out. The bun the burger came on was nice enough, it was soft and tasty, yet firm enough to not fall apart as I ate the burger. The beef quality was decent, the mushrooms and onions were good. I couldn't help but think for the price and this type of restaurant the burger was a bit on the small side. Overall I'd say the burger was average tasting and about what I expected. The fries that came with the burger were fairly typical thick steak fries. To make up for the burger the fries included were quite abundant, unfortunately they weren't anything special either. As I had a lot of fries just sitting uneaten and had completely decimated the burger I waited.. and waited... a long time in the dark dining area for my waiter to return with the check. Perhaps it was so dark in there that they just couldn't see me and assumed I dine'd and dash'ed. Between my wait to initially order and my wait to get the check I probably spent 30 minutes too long in a not so busy restaurant at lunch time. Overall the name Anyway's is quite fitting as this place really is an afterthought. My food wasn't bad, but for the price the portion's were inadequate of what I would expect from similar sports bar/restaurants. And the service was not just slow but inattentive. I'm not sure I'd go back, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it. If you like average food, slow service and sitting in the dark however then this place might be for you.

I still have taco breath as I'm writing this review. That's just how powerful my three fish tacos were even after 3.5 hours of eating them. The restaurant is pretty spacious and has multiple dining area sections. If you sit at the bar during happy hour of 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on the weekdays, you can order various menu items for $3.79 each with a beverage purchase. My friends and I just sat at a regular dining table that was located by a fireplace. I ordered the Grilled Fish Tacos while my friends ordered the Steak Tacos and Low-Calorie Turkey Burger. The fish tacos were tasty with the red salsa. They didn't have the green salsa unfortunately, which I normally use on tacos. My tacos came with a side of beans and rice. I hate refried beans, so I was happy to see regular black beans arrive on my plate. I sampled my friend's turkey burger, which was flavorful and juicy. REMEMBER TO SIGN UP FOR THEIR E-CLUB ON THE WEBSITE TO GET $10 ANY PURCHASE (excludes the $3.79 specials)!! It made my fish tacos ($9.99) essentially free! Food was great, but it didn't beat my steak taco love affair at Chavas Tacos in Elmwood Park, IL. Overall, I recommend going to this restaurant.

Order the meatloaf. You'll thank me later. My mother always said never order meatloaf at a restaurant because it won't be good. But like most advice my mother gives, she was wrong about that too. Anyways meatloaf is spectacular. It's better than hers. I think she's just jealous. We came here on a Saturday evening with a group of pals, and aside from the noise level (there was a Blackhawks game on, so it's not the restaurant's fault) we had a great time. The food is always amazing. We pre-gamed with some pulled pork nachos that were big enough to leave us full just on the appetizer. Then the entrees came and we had to take half of them home. Portion sizes are great. Prices are fair and the service is spectac. Alcohol prices are kind of up there, especially for what you get, but you've gotta make money somewhere, right? I have and will come here many times. You should too. Let me know when you're going and we can go together. I'll have the meatloaf, and you should too. Just don't tell your Mom.

How can you not like Anyways? Good beer, good drinks, and good food too, all with you guessed it, good prices. Atmosphere is inviting and the staff is excellent. This place has become the go to place for my co-workers and I. We try to find an excuse to try other places, but we rarely do and when have we always regret it.

Nots sure what to really think of this place. It reminds me of a bar that my parents would go to after work to catch up with old friends. I couldn't actually see myself bringing a group of guys there after a softball game 21+ it just seems like an old crowd the foods alright, but you have pizza on the menu and well, that's confusing because you don't have the look or feel of a pizza place. The service was decent. Just not a place to go if your under the age of 35.

Love the prices on their "happy hour" menu! We happened to be there at 3:30 and the selection of items on the menu were all great! My friend had the 3 Tacos and I had the burger which was soooo good. Will definitely be back!

I wanted to write a review thanking the staff and management for their wonderful hospitality. We had a minor incident last Friday with one of our meals and the waitress immediately told the Mgr. Chris what had happen. He came right over to our table, apologize and had the entree remade. He then told us that entree would be of no charge on our bill. Also gave us all free desserts and a gift certificate to come back at a later date. The staff is always friendly, the restaurant is always clean and well maintained, and the food is excellent. I would highly recommend going there for a family gathering, or with friends. You can watch sports in the bar area, enjoy the outdoor dining, or inside dinning for a quieter atmosphere. Excellent job at customer satisfaction!! Keep up the great work!

Looking for a place that anyone can eat at easily no matter how picky they are, this is your place. The menu is huge and covers regular American Grill, seafood, Mexican and Italian. Probably some others that I didn't recognize. The staff is very friendly and I have yet to find food that me or my guests were not very happy with. The only issue we ever run into is trying to choose what to eat with all the options! Great bar as well. You won't regret giving this place a chance! It also has an outdoor patio that is protected by tinted glass so you can see out and they can't see in easily. This also protects you from the wind and many of the flying insects.

Food was excellent. Exceeded my expectations considering the prices. The cheese fries were much more than just fries covered in nacho cheese. Actually they were thick cut fries with melted cheese, bacon, green onion, and came with a tasty side dipping sauce. Also a nice selection of specialty beers, but slightly overpriced I though. Overall very good though, I will be visiting again.

I went to Anyways for a fundraiser event with a Casino Night set up. Halfway through game playing we decided to grab a table in the restaurant side of the bar. No complaints with our service at all, our server was very sweet..but she did seem like she was the only person working about 20 tables, so she didn't stop by too frequently. Let's talk drinks... I ordered a Long Island and it was literally perfect.. the best I've ever had, but my husband ordered one as well and it was definitely too strong. $7.50 for top shelf on a Saturday night was reasonable as well. For food we decided to choose a few appetizers to split.. We got the potato skins and the blue cheese chips. Both were pretty mediocre, but the portions were generous. Average prices. It's worth the extra $1-2 for top shelf, and if you're looking for a very low-key place to watch the game this is a decent little place.

I love this place! Prices are reasonable and the food is great! Some waitresses can do a little better by coming back more often and checking to see if anyone needs anything. But overall, love the great menu options and always go back. I love doing take out too!

Looking at my past week or two of reviews... we spend a lot of time in bar/grill type places. But I am not ashamed. These types of places tend to have tasty, comforty food in a comfortable atmosphere. Anyway's major failing is that stray, unnecessary apostrophe. On the whole, though, it has good specials, tasty food, and low prices. On our most recent visit, I got one of their specials, a shrimp po'boy, and I have to say, it was very good. I've had a few po'boys in New Orleans, which gives me an idea at least, and this one was pretty close. Great crusty bread, tasty fried shrimp, nicely dressed. Their fries are skin-on and nicely done too. Service is always friendly and it's hard to spend too much. Plus they send out lots of coupons and a free entree on your birthday. Score.

My boyfriend took me here for the first time and I absolutely loved this place! It's a great atmosphere and they had the best mountain of nachos I've ever had! They were extremely filling and loaded with cheese, salsa, beans, guac, etc! Their beers were a good size and their fruity drinks were good as well! Not very crowded which was nice so you can be seated right away. Good service as well! Tv's to watch sports games too!

I know this a popular place and I'm glad for that. I do love the environment- different rooms with tables and booths- it has a warm feel and it looks especially pretty when the Christmas lights are up (they still are, by the way!) :) I like coming here to catch up with people instead of just a quick meal. They have large tables for groups too. They have a patio in the summer which is fun. I have been here about 10 times over the years- like I said, it's a popular place with people I know. I almost always have ordered the chicken salad sandwich- I like that it has apples and cherries in it. The last couple of times it didn't excite me so yesterday I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried the Asian Chicken Salad. I should have stuck to what I know! The chicken on it was dry and a little burned, impossible to cut, and just didn't taste good to me. The mandarin oranges were soggy. The chow mein noodles weren't the ones that restaurants usually use- they are the thicker ones you buy at the grocery store- they just didn't seem to fit. The lettuce was mostly iceberg and the dressing wasn't great. It's probably just my taste, but I was disappointed. It was also pretty soggy. Huge portion, though! I was bummed. I am glad I ordered the cream of chicken and wild rice soup- that was very tasty and had an extra ingredient- not sure if it was dill or something but it added a unique taste and I liked it. Very good. My friend ordered the macaroni and cheese and it looked good- baked, with bacon and bread crumbs- also a huge portion. She said she always orders it. It didn't come with anything else- just a huge bowl of that. The service was fine- the menu is large. I just don't love it as much as many other places. Still, it's a cool gathering place in the area.

I actually went here for a bridal shower. It was a lot of fun! We got to pick from a smaller menu, it was nice to have options of a burger, chicken sandwich, etc. the food and service were great! Never would've thought to host a shower there, but it's on my list of ideas now. Will go back.

Dinner was just ok. We sat outside since it was a lovely evening which I recommend. Inside smelled kind of stale. Also the menus reeked of stale beer. I had the mojo chicken sandwich, which was great, but my side of vegetables seemed out of a bag, steamed, then plopped on the plate unseasoned. My boyfriend had the chipotle chicken burger which was good however nothing chipotle about it. Seemed more like just generic bbq sauce on top. His mashed potatoes from an ice cream scoop also were dry and slightly hard. All in all, just ok. Will not be trying again

So, I've belonged to a barter network for years and they recently had certificates for Anyways so we figured we would give it a shot. Its close enough to Elmhurst, is good for dinner with the kids and the wife and I can get a beer and relax. They really do a solid job. We've now been there twice and every meal was good, service was really friendly, atmosphere is nice and beer is cold! On our last visit I had the shrimp tacos with rice and beans. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and had a nice kick to it which I really liked. Rice and beans were also expertly prepared and the whole thing worked well together. The wife had a portobella club sandwich, which I thought was a really creative way to do something different with the run of the mill club sandwich. Kids had a salad, burger, mac and cheese and pasta (we had one extra in tow). The mac and cheese is the standout as its done really well with corkscrew pasta and chunks of crispy bacon. We also had an appetizer of their potato chips with blue cheese and bacon (can never have enough bacon). It was great but some of the chips on the bottom were a bit soggy...make sure they are all cooked all the way through next time. All in all, we will continue to return to Anyway's. There used to be a place in Elmhurst called Crossroads that was our go to with the kids but someone knocked it down and built an abomination of a strip mall (that's an entirely different saga). I'd say Anyways is filling that void for the family.

Great food- service was okay. It took awhile for a server to even give us a menu. When we did see our server, at least he was friendly. I was confused as to why our service was not more frequent as the restaurant wasn't very busy. I liked the overall feel of it.

My friend and I were looking for a place to have dinner and since I haven't yet explored the Villa Park/Oak Brook area too much, we weren't sure where to go. She passed along Anyway's on her way to my house, so we decided to give it a shot. I've driven down Roosevelt a few times now but hadn't noticed this restaurant, perhaps because of the construction going on. It's nicer than the average pub, has a bar area and an outdoor patio. The patio seems like it would be a bit noisy being right on Roosevelt, but I think I'd still give it a shot in warmer weather. They have a lot of options on their menu. I had a really hard time deciding what I wanted. They have a Munster cheese and avocado burger which sounds delicious and probably would have if I hadn't just eaten a burger a few days back. They have fajitas, burritos, ribs, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, and vegetarian options. I finally settled on a turkey and avocado wrap, minus the chipotle sauce. Unfortunately, they forgot to take that off, so there were moments where my mouth was on fire. The prices are a little high for being a pub. My wrap was $8 which was fine, but the prices did deter me from getting other things, such as the homemade baked mac and cheese which sounded delicious, but was $10. That's a little too high. They do have beer specials though, and you can have a beer of the month for $3.50. They have plenty of choices too, but I wasn't in the mood for a beer this particular night. I'll probably come back again, perhaps to watch the game and have a few appetizers. My friend and I did split the nachos, which come with melted shredded cheese as opposed to cheese sauce. It's a nice atmosphere and a good option. Yeah it's nothing fancy, but there seems to be something for everyone's tastes.

We just discovered this restaurant, no idea what took us so long, but from the parking lot, you have to think is this place packed??? Both times I have eaten here I had to park all the way in the back lot. Which is a great sign to me because it's busy with people, must be good. The menu is huge, tons of options from appetizers to soups, burgers, classic restaurant options. I couldn't help myself but starring at a little girl almost standing up in her chair, trying to eat her spaghetti. I thought that must be good, she was loving it! I've eaten outside on the huge patio and dined inside. If it's a nice day, I recommend eating outside. Service was great! I've only eaten the fish taco's but they are very tasty and come with big portions of rice and black beans. Simon's which is across the street, my husband really likes for dinner, but I would pick this place over dinner at Simon's anytime.

My boyfriend and I recently went to Anyway's for dinner. We had an awful experience. We sat in the bar area so we could watch some of the games that were on. The waitress came to the table on several occasions to ask if we needed anything and before we could respond, she was gone. We had to ask another waitress to refill our drinks. We were going to stay after eating, but decided to go elsewhere because the service was so bad. Then we get the check. My boyfriend gave his credit card to pay the bill. When the reciept came, we noticed that it was a different price than the bill. We were promised that the card was not run at that price and the bill would be adjusted. We were also promised that the card was not run twice. Come Monday, my boyfriend check his statement to find that they indeed ran the card twice (two different amounts.) When he called to dispute this, he was told by an employee that they would "probably" refund the card. He was not comfortable with a "probably" answer, so he asked for the manager. He was then put on hold for about 15 minutes without anyone coming back to the phone. After this experience and just OK food, I will never be back. According to the credit card company, this is a trick restaurants like to do in hopes that people don't notice and they make an extra buck. So, watch out!! I will definitely be telling my family and friends that Anyway's likes to steal people's money.

Anyways exactly Save your time and money go to jts porch or st Charles rd to Capps coz this place sucks I say this because years later after a great experience I had a Lousy bartender maybe I shouldn't take it so personal but her attitude was so inexcusable whatever we all have bad days but if you are working on st patricks day you better be cheerful or get a clue- new job - or stay home

The food is OK. I've been here many times and each time the food is just OK. Everytime I go, I try to order something different hoping that it will be better than OK but no luck so far. The place is usually pretty busy so there are definitely a lot of people in the Villa Park area that like OK food. For the price point of their menu, I am looking for more. If you like OK food, go try it otherwise I would recommend heading south to Butterfield/22nd. There are many more dining options.

  • Michele S.

I have been here a million times, and the food is always consistent. Is it gourmet? No. Just average bar type food, which sometimes is all you want. One of my favorite items from the menu is the turkey chili. It's delicious and tastes freshly homemade. I also enjoy the buffalo chicken salad. One of the reasons I like to come here is that there is always a good drink special. Last time we went they had $3/16oz draft beer. Not bad. Many years ago, my friends had my wedding shower here. They did a fantastic job for a very reasonable price. We got to pick out the menu, and they even sectioned off the room with the fireplace as we requested. Good people to do business with.

Anyway's Pub = Houlihan's, IMO. The food is okay, but defo overpriced. The drinks are standard as they have a full bar... but I think for the location (in a mostly abandoned strip mall next to a gas station and loan stores) everything is overpriced, but I give them props for trying to class up a pub in this area. I do like the teeny tiny outdoor patio in the summer... for the area, there's not a whole lot else with an outdoor patio so they've cornered that market. I would most likely be headed here if I weren't in the mood for fast food late at night as they have a late night (till midnight, I believe) menu.

I stopped in here while on a business trip to the area. While it was prime dinner time, I was promptly seated. The atmosphere was pretty typical of a sports bar/pub restaurant. The first thing I noticed was that the service was great. The wait staff was attentive, but not overly so. The food itself was good. I had the Anyway's burger with bacon and guacamole. It was prepared well, and tasted good. Overall I would say this place isn't going to knock your socks off with the food, but for a local restaurant with pub food, it's a good option with good service.

I love Anyways! Its right by my house and it is always the perfect place to go for a beer and to meet with friends. They also have awesome food. I have never gotten something there that I don't like and their menu has everything! Everything from delicious salads and sandwiches to fish tacos or pasta! You could bring a group there and everyone would be able to find something to eat. They also do drink specials throughout the week and beer prices are very reasonable! All of the staff is AMAZING too! I'm hoping to host my sister's bridal shower there this year too!

Great first date place! The restaurant gets noisy but it was a Saturday night so what do you expect. I had the alfredo angel hair with shrimp, date had the diablo pasta and they were both phenomenal. Long Island Iced Teas were good, too. Would definitely go back

Kind of obsessed with this place. Boy asks "Where should we go for dinner tonight? Let me guess? Anyways?" We have always had great service, great food, and a great time. It's rare that you frequent a place so often and you never have ONE negative experience. The staff is friendly and personable, and the owner is adorable. Reasonably priced. What more can I say. One of our favorite places. We love you!

It's a decent, if unspectacular, establishment. In a word, you'll be "whelmed" with Anyway's. My wife and I came here a year ago and remember nothing about our meal, so we returned. Server Erika, pleasant and ever-smiling, suggested fish tacos and crusted mac and cheese, along with their burgers, ribs and pasta. The mac and cheese was purported to be "to die for," but I would object to such a sad death. It actually wasn't macaroni (nitpicky, I know), the onions were not caramelized per menu description, and the crumbly things on top had little flavor and reminded me of the awful cafeteria mac and cheese of my District 60 youth. The cheese wasn't as tangy as I wanted either. I guess it was okay in the grand scheme, but Stouffer's is better, sorry to say. My wife's grilled fish tacos were a good deal better. Whatever kind of fish it was - and who knows if anyone gets the kind of fish they think they're ordering - it was seasoned nicely and combined with tomato and pico de gallo in a soft tortilla for a pleasant mouthfeel. It was the kind of taco that drips just a little on your plate, not a river down your forearm. The accompanying black beans and rice were excellent and possibly the highlight of the meal. Not sure if these tacos match up to those at Chicks and Salsa in Glen Ellyn, but they're not far off. Strip away the Chicago mural on the back wall and Anyway's decor is reminiscent of an Irish pub chain, with lots of wood and green. It has a pleasant layout, not too open or confining, with a fireplace and a large and inviting L-shaped bar. No live entertainment is offered, but it may still be a place to have a good time with friends some evening, especially in the summer with their well-designed enclosed outdoor patio. If I come here for drinks, I'll probably enjoy my experience more. But this place was just okay for me today. In a pinch, Anyway's will do the trick; with its large menu, it's got something for everyone. But it might lack something for everyone as well.

I booked my husband's 40th birthday party here on a Saturday night. We had 50 guests attend. It was so easy to make the reservation and Nick (manager) was very helpful. The servers made sure the buffet was never empty and were very good at clearing away dirty dishes and bottles. The pizza, meatballs, wings, and potato skins are so good! I will definitely come back again for more events!!

We just had a party here over the weekend for our daughter's communion and everything was wonderful. The room was really nice and private, the set-up was perfect for our group size (25-30 people including several young children), and our entire event ran smoothly. There was a small delay of about 25 minutes in getting our food going but the quality and flavor of the food more than made up for it. We did the pizza buffet with caesar salad, appetizer and vodka pasta. The presentation was great, the salad came out in a huge bowl and was refilled promptly as we ran out. The wings were a huge hit. We were going to do meatballs but I'm so glad we didn't because everyone LOVED the unlimited wings, which I seriously recommend if you have some guys in your group or youngsters. The pasta was amazing. I was expecting plain pasta with vodka sauce but the pasta had chicken and mushrooms and the vodka sauce was so delicious, another huge hit with our family. Finally the pizza...I had never tasted their pizza before and we were kind of on edge about the quality of food that would be offered for an unlimited buffet but let me just tell you the pizza was just so good. It was homemade pizza, the sausage was perfect, the pepperoni was good, and all of the pizzas were super cheesy. Everything was refilled as we ran low and they were even kind enough to bring out some chicken tenders for a picky eater we had at the kids table. Service was outstanding. We would definitely have another party here.

I try not to come here for lunch or dinner often. I find that there are much better places to go to, but I finally came for lunch again. The food is alright but the service could be much better. The host is really ncie and the waitresses are really nice, but they tend to forget about you. My friend and I sat outside and ordered fajita quesadillas. Just like it sounds, steak, grilled onions and peppers inside a large quesadilla. It could feed two people but we always forget and order one each. Like I said, the food is just OK. I love coming here on summer nights just to have a few drinks out on the patio. I would have to say the patio is one of their best features.

Anyway's is a fun restaurant that serves a variety of favorites: burgers, burritos, pasta, pizza, ribs, salads, etc. I visit specifically for the Tex Mex burrito. It is huge, delicious, and packed with rice and beans, guacamole on the side. The dining room is classy but casual, and wait staff has always been prompt. I recommend stopping in at this pub for lunch or dinner. There is something on the menu for just about everyone.

Huge slabs of ribs, but not any better than anywhere around. Boring steak.

Don't expect any gourmet or inventive items on the menu. This is just a neighborhood joint that serves up good (albeit average) food. I've been here several times over the last few years--It's one of those places that's kind of a "last resort" choice when the hubs and I are in the area and just want to eat and can't really think of other places to try. I always get the burgers and haven't been disappointed. I like their Anyways burger--there are many choices (cheeses, jalapenos, grilled onions, bacon, mushrooms, etc) to add to the burger and you can pick up to 3 for $8, includes fries. The burgers have always been cooked to order and it's nice to have different options to add. We always sit at the bar--about 4 TVs above the bar showing different sports. I don't know if its new or that I've never noticed, but I found that every day is a different drink special and they seem pretty reasonable. Laid back atmosphere. Servers aren't overly enthusiastic but can be friendly. It's kind of what I've become accustomed to here so no surprises when they're abrupt.

Great burgers, cheap beer and REAL mayo!! Everyone was friendly and service was on point. Will be back again!

Had the rib dinner with garlic mashed potatoes. Very good! Ribs were fall off the bone type. Delicious sauce as well. Only complaint is we repeatedly had to ask our server for refills of water and soft drinks. We also got see the Chicago Black Hawks win another game! TV's are all over the place at this establishment.

Best place around. From the food to the service everything is great. Excellent shrimp avocado tacos and now an amazing new selection of craft beer. Draft and bottles and specials daily! 3.79 happy hour menu and always a great atmosphere

Met some friends after work yesterday for the Hawks game. They have a good selection of beers, and a great happy hour appetizer offer from 3-6 in the bar area. We had the steak fajita quesadillas and the nachos platter, both were excellent. Service was good, staff was friendly and attentive. Didn't make it to the restaurant section, but it appeared busy.

Anyway's is consistent with their food. It's always pretty good. They have excellent specials for lunch...yummy and cheap. Their drink specials are a good value. Our service is always fantastic. Their burgers are dee-lish. We stop there when we don't feel like cooking.

This has been a family mainstay of ours for as long as I can remember. The Seafood Pasta Diablo is to die for and the Mick's Chips made this appetizer avoiding girl a believer. The patio is just great on a summer night. You amazingly forget you are right on Roosevelt Road! You really can't go wrong here. I put so much value in a place that is consistently solid. Truly a winner.

This is the first time I can actually say I didn't mind paying $12 for a hearty pasta dish, waaaay better than something you'd find at a Friday's, or a "Shehaniganz." Ok, so Mom bought tonight. But I would have! I had the Penne Mozzarella Pasta: a HUGE plate of penne pasta with pieces of grilled chicken, italian sausage and fresh mozzarella, all tossed with a tomato cream sauce. (Peep my picture for a look). Before that, I had the chicken tortilla soup. Not a whole lot of chicken, but awesome blend of tomatoes and mexican spices in the soup. Plenty zesty, I needed a lot of water! I hadn't been here in probably over five years, but I definitely won't wait as long next time. It's gotten much better since then, so cheers to them.

Wasn't my pick to to dine here today, but i went with a friend anyway to Anyway's. Sat in the bar area where there is a pool table, a bunch of tv's, around seven tables that seat four near a fireplace. On Wednesday they have 3 dollar absolut and $3 draft beers. Was not a big selection, but I ordered a stella. The menu was pretty big. They had burgers, ribs, steaks, pastas, chicken, fish tacos, meatloaf, and a lot of apps. I ordered a vodka sauce rigatoni with chicken, mushrooms, capicola, and parm cheese. My friend ordered a chx alfredo with broccoli. We also ordered cheesy garlic bread with a marinara sauce. After ordering I second guessed our ordering pasta at a bar, but to my surprise mine was decent. I thought the sauce made the dish. My friends dish on the other hand was not so good. They forgot to put broccoli in his dish. He sent it back and within a couple minutes viola, microwaved broccoli that was pretty bad. The cheesy garlic bread was tasty but the marinara was a little sweet for my liking. Service- Was greeted by a waitress when we sat down asking for a drink order. She took our order, got us our first round, and that was the last time we saw her. A different server brought out our food. My friend had to flag down a busser to ask for broccoli. Nobody ever asked if it was good or if we needed anything else. The busser also ran our cc's and that finished the meal. Not the worst place to dine, but also not the best. If I could give half stars i would rate this place 2 and half stars.

Great place to watch the game. Great drink specials. And their food is great as well - love their nachos especially. They have some great pastas, fish dishes and sandwiches all without spending a fortune. During the summer months, they have a cute outside patio as well.

Anyway's is a decent place for a burger and a beer. The menu is large, mostly bar fare. Burgers, sandwiches, salads. The beer selection is good, not great, but good. 3 Floyds, Goose Island and the usual staples. The staff is friendly, a little slow but nice. They have plenty of TVs for sports in the bar and the dining rooms. The bar area is separate from the dining rooms and has plenty of space for small to medium size groups.

We try to support local restaurants that are not chains and Anyways is one of our favorites. Our whole family loves this restaurant/bar. I have had nearly everything on the menu and love it all; I have a really hard time deciding what to eat (my husband always gets the Dilla Salad). They have great drink and food specials. It is always our "go to" place. Our family of 4 can often eat (and have a drink) for under $40 with tip! The wait staff doesn't hover but is always around when you need something. It has intimate areas if there are just 2 of you but plenty of area for a large group. It is not saturated with kids but has a good kids menu. Honestly, I am a bit shocked that not everyone loves it as much as we do. The location is odd but fits a nitch of no other place around. I think it is a really good deal; the sizable outdoor patio is great in the summer; the indoor fireplaces are cozy in the winter. The "Chicago Atmosphere" is really not over done and seeing that the skyline is visible on a clear day from the restaurant, I don't think it is that much of a stretch. It is funny, this restaurant has been around for awhile. My college roommate and I used to drive out from the city to go there just because it was relaxing and a good deal. I would definitely give it a try if you are out near Oak Brook and are looking to avoid the barrage of over-priced corporate chains that proliferate the area.

Kinda funny that I drove past this place every day for two years and never even noticed it's existence, but the bosses were paying so I joined the celebration! The calamari was actually very good, not just for a pub, but for any restaurant. Not chewy, cooked just right. My cider never ran dry, and the pulled pork sammich was also very good! Sad to say the leftover fries didn't work out, but they never do, right? Liked the beer garden area, but the strip mall locale does not make for the nicest ambiance. The place seemed huge though, a couple pool tables and several large tvs, seemed like it would be great for a group. I would gladly go again if someone else were paying.

It's a better-than-average hometown bar. That bouncer was tough; I was there for a school event and he was really working that security!

How does a restaurant in Villa Park claim to be Chicago's restaurant & pub? Well, this won't be the only question you'll ask yourself. Most importantly "Why did I choose to eat here?" accompanied by "Why does this taste like cardboard?" will take up the bulk of your thoughts. Seriously, the crust of this pizza is stiff without crunch. Simply, it really sucks. Have you ever accidentally left the cardboard plate underneath the frozen pizza while baking it? Save some money and continue to do that if you're ever invited here.

Came here with our family on one of the first very nice nights of the year and sat outside. It was so pleasant! We did not notice any "fumes" from Roosevelt Road as another poster complained. We had a baby in our group and ordered her dinner first, and our server was very accomodating with that. My only minor complaint was that the baby's dinner came and we still hadn't gotten any silverware so we could not cut up her food until we got that, and the baby was a little impatient! But it was a busy night. Others have complained about the food being pricey, but I did order a filet and I felt I got very good value for the price. It was a good size, cooked pretty close to how I ordered it, and very tasty. We all ordered different things and each meal was good! There were many menu items that looked good so we will be back to try something else. Especially since they seem family friendly!

I'd say this is a good hang out and one of the few places I know that is equally successful as a bar and a restaurant. In my experience, usually one dimension outshines the other. As for Anyways, this is not the case. EAT, DRINK, and BE MERRY!

Good restaurant for a sandwich and other fare on their menu. One of my favorites is the Rueben half sandwich with soup, especially on a Wednesday night with their potatoe soup. So far I have not had a soup that was not good. My wife likes the cool ranch wrap that includes chicken, cheese, ranch dressing, more... in pita bread. I have also enjoyed some of their chicken sandwiches where there is a variety.

The best "go to" restaurant out there whether a game, a beer, or a family meal. When it is tough to make a decision and the pressure is on, I'd take "Anyways" every time. Service is phenomenal, friendly, and responsive while the management is passionate and thankful. My favorite is the Seafood Diablo and if ready for spice, Izzy's Jambalaya. Fish taco's and calamari makes taste buds happy. I strongly recommend this pub for all moods that hit you for lunch, dinner, game, or party!

I go waaaay back with this place when it was called Sweet Pepper and can honestly say it has only improved over the decades. Interesting menu distinguishes this place from places like Claim Jumper and the like. If you haven't given it a try in a few years, please go back - you won't be disappointed.

The food is really good. However the service and staff is not. We used to have parties there for my work and have since found a better place to have them. They're extremly rude. Sad, i liked the food.

Ok first impression as I was walking up to the place was the parking was a little wierd, but as I approached teh doors my fear was that I would not be able to have a normal level of conversation. We walked in and decided to have their advertised fish and chips. we were greeted adn I asked for a booth. we were sat next to a large party and I was glad they left a few minutes after we sat down. My guest and I both ordered Fish and chips with two soft drinks. ( total 24 including tax without tip) having had fish and chips in scotland, I am always wary of what i am going to eat. the only disappointment i had was the size of the filets. I am used to large filets. these were about 4-5 inches tip to tip and had three total and some fries with. it comes with lemon, malt vinegar and and tarter sauce. The server actually listen ad got things right ..... always a plus in my book. The food was good. not knowig what pricing is normally i cant judge if it was priced right or not. I wasnt concerned though. was in it for teh company and convo. I would try it again and maybe something else to see how it fairs. I would give it a 3 and open for possible move up

Oh gag me with a mother f'ing spoon already. "Anyways" you are not in Chicago and there is absolutely nothing Chicago about you. You could exist in any strip mall (or 6-lane commerical road) anywhere in suburban America. It's not classy. Its over-rated. The service is a major disappointment. (Totally ignored by our waitress and it wasn't busy and there were just the two of us!) The food is lackluster and overpriced. (Friend couldn't even finish her salad. My sandwich wasn't too special) The outdoor area is pretty much right on the street. Yes, folks - that would be Roosevelt. How pleasant! (Mmm fumes!) And no, I am not some irrate customer. I just think this place isn't worth visting.

A nice quiet, relaxing lunch spot - you don't have to shout over the music. I had the harvarti beef wrap. A lot of food for the money, and very tasty. The fries were kind of limp.

I don't like this place. Too many snooty tie wearing office types like the extras in the Tv show Cheers. I was hoping this place would close with the remodeling of the local mall, but it looks like it will survive at its location. The prices are high and the service is bad.

I've been here several times and have only been to the Bloomingdale location lately. Therefore I can't speak for the Villa Park location now, but I have been to that location several times. The burgers are top notch, always a good selection of beers on time, and a varied menu that everyone can find a dish on. I've had their burgers mostly, but I've also had the meatloaf. It is not like the meatloaf I grew up with the tomato sauce/ketchup on top. It has a brown gravy. However, it is incredibly delicious and one of my favorite dishes there. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to watch games with friends or to share a meal with family.

Fun, good beer specials, good atmosphere and pretty good bar food. Usually the service is really nice but I've come across a rude bartender or two. I recommend the Nachos! I've never had the Pizza but my good friend swears by it! Also, my Grandma works for St. VIncent de Paul and they donate a little money to them when they bring their receipts to the church which is a nice plus! Ya know.. just for their generosity I am going to up them from 3 to 4 stars!

I had a great time, even though I only spent about an hour and a half there. The drinks were potent, and resonably price, there were TV's everywhere, a pool table that only cost a dollar, and decent music. I would go back again but only with a group of people...had more fun with a group

GREAT outside patio! Fun, laid back but classy bar scene. Pool tables, darts, fireplace and many flat screens occupy the bar side of this restaurant. The appetizers are nothing special, but come here for the burgers, sandwiches & salads...YUM! Service is great, however, they could use more wait staff on the bar side, for patrons at the tables. A great place to feel warm and cozy in the winter and cool in the summer with the patio.

We went here a few weeks back after attending a wake down the street. There was five of us including my sister, brother-in-law and my mom. We got seated right away and our server was really nice but just a bit scatter brained. We ordered our drinks and the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer first and both of those things came out pretty fast, but that did not set the tone for our meals! BTW...the appetizer was pretty good and the chips were homemade, I believe, warm and nicely salted. Between us we ordered the Chicken Fajitas, Italian Sub Sandwich of some kind, Chicken Burrito, Chipotle BBQ Chicken Sandwich and I ordered the Seafood Diablo. Our food took about 30 minutes to come out, seriously, it might have even been a bit longer than that! We finally got it and my sister's burrito had fallen apart and she had to pick at it with a fork just to eat it, my husband's chipotle chx sandwich was average, brother-in-laws sub seemed to be enjoyed, mom pretty much likes any fajitas and my pasta was just okay. It was supposed to have chunks of crabmeat and shrimp in a spicy sauce, well the crabmeat was from a can, I would bet money on that, the shrimp were scarce but good and the sauce was not that spicy at all. We had been here a few times when we lived in the area and it was never my first choice because I thought it was always just okay, and this time we went, I think will be my last time, because it was just not that good. **I do know that their bar and patio areas are hangouts for some of the people I went to high school with, so maybe that is a more fun atmosphere than the drab restaurant part, but I have never experienced that...so maybe you should go there for their bar and let me know what you think...**

I've eaten from here three times total, and twice were in the past week because I had these gift certificates lying around for years...One night we got take away...I had ribs, my brother had the cajun chicken sandwich. The food was good, but, like many of the reviews on here state....service sucked. I walked into the restaurant and met the hostess who proceeded to tell me to pick up my food at the bar. A guy came over from behind the bar and asked if I could be helped...he went to retrieve my order. But in the meantime, waiting to pay, a blond women whom I assume was the bartender walks over and asks if I needed anything. I would have responded right away but she failed to look at me and seemed as if she were looking at the door behind me and to my left. She was just a little rash, but I paid, got the food, got home, ate it, 'twas delicious. Or at least the ribs and fries were. Coleslaw had little flavor and the lettuce in the salad I ordered looked less than appetizing. Good house dressing though ( I appreciate a well-made salad dressing.) So the next day 3 of us decide to go back for dinner and dine at the restaurant. We snagged the last outdoor patio table and a waitress eventually came to take our drink order. Then another one came to do the same...mis-communication. Eventually we were paired with the 2nd waitress who then took a year and a half to come back and take our order. She then proceeded to only take our appetizer order at first, and then came back later to take our entree order. A friend was going to ask her suggestion between two options but before she could even name the first one the waitress butts in and suggests the ribs. "Best ribs, been in the paper for years." LOL I told her I had the ribs the night before, and she responds as if I still have to try them from there. I was like, no, I was here last night, I had them here. She backed off. But then she proceeded to say the turkey burger is bad and that she doesn't trust the cooks there to cook it all the way through because it's poultry. Friend then ordered her second option, pesto chicken sandwich, which was good. Pesto sauce on top of a grilled chicken breast, which itself is sitting on top bruschetta. My brother had BBQ pulled pork sandwich, he seemed to like it. And I ordered the steak kabob...just okay..nothing special. For our appetizer we had the spinach and artichoke dip. It was pretty good. I usually will get there at any restaurant I am at, it's like a staple...so this one I'd go back for. I'll agree with the waitress, the ribs are probably the best choice on the menu, and I also recommend the pesto chicken sandwich. Service there isn't the best, so just be warned.

The food is good, the service is decent, and it's big enough that you can go there with a huge group of people and not overwhelm the place. Anyway's is a great local bar for normal people who aren't looking to see and be seen. It's a nice place to hang out if you're somewhere in the middle between "I'm a pick-up driving rube" and "I am FAR too hip and urban to be seen in the suburbs, let's go to Rainbo instead."

A Chicago-themed bar in the suburbs? Perhaps I'm just slightly confused, but what the heck. We came here for a going away/birthday party last week. I didn't get a chance to eat anything other than the cold quesadillas and chicken wings provided for the party. I give it 3 stars for the sole reason that our waitress was really friendly and the Coronas were cheap. The birthday girl brought in an ice cream cake and they were nice enough to keep it in the freezer and bring out slices to guests. However, after I enjoyed my one Corona, it was time to switch over to designated driver status. The bartender charged me $2 for a Sprite!! Are you for real? Food-MEH Atmosphere-Friendly, laid-back $2 Soda-No thanks

When I worked in Oak Brook this was my fave lunch spot. The owners here are GREAT. Friendly and so helpful. A great place for groups. Dark, cozy atmosphere or you can eat outside on pretty days. Spinach dip is excellent - and so are the salads. Not too pricy and there are always sports games on and plenty of parking. Close to the malls and other Oak Brook attractions (if there are any?) so next time you are out there for a work meeting or shopping spree, stop by Anyways. Delish.

While I would never use the word "classy," this casual and friendly west suburban restaurant echoes its Chicago roots in it's name --- "Anyway's." (I'm not a native, so I laugh when Midwestern sentences begin with that word! ha!) Nosh, gab, and enjoy the large and varied menu, the unpretentious food, the pleasant atmosphere and the neighborhood-style feel. Take the family, go as a couple or meet a crowd for a group gathering. Like Chicagoans themselves, this place doesn't pretend to be anything it's not --- but what it does is to deliver quality, quantity and friendly service whatever the season.

After reading the below review I have to wonder if we went to the same restaurant . . . classy bar scene? For Real. This is Oakbrook - or close enough to it - that classy means more than a few umbrellas parked upside some trashy picnic tables and a few benches. And okay, if it's not that bad, then at least get a waitress that's understandable. (and no - it's not a different language - unless mumbling became the new Eubonics) - had WATER and a turkey sandwhich with fries (i was in the mood for low maintenance ( if you know me, you know this is rare, so they should have taken advantage ) the cheese was wrong (swiss instead of whatever it said it came with), the turkey was convenience store, midnight, back of the shelf, all we have left, but i'm really starving so i'll take it quality (and quality I use loosely) and the fries were . .. well not crisply hot and golden brown like I was hoping. The salt shaker had yuck in it (and no, it wasn't salt) . . . the only thing saving this place from no stars was the passable ribs my Dad got, the vegetarian section my Mom and Grandparents ordered from AND the fact that the patio section had no wait on a Thursday night. Sitting outside with friends, sharing laughs - and having a place to get into to IS a plus. Food like this? Service as such? This is why I stick to the city. Definitively scary making. Got to my boyfriend's house and the first words he said after I described my experience were "uh oh - this is getting Yelped" . . . well - I can't let you all suffer like I did!
